Death Penalty Mitt Romney vs Barak Obama

     Barak Obama believes that utmost caution should be taken with death penalties, and that there are certain rare occurrences when death penalty can be a viable option.  However, Barak Obama does not in any way favor death – penalty. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, believes that death penalty should be utilized with terrorists whose crimes are considered immoral and inhumane to common society’s standards.  I personally believe that death penalty is more of a present to the criminals who are sentenced with it. In my opinion, a lifetime sentence in a top security level prison contains a lot more suffering in it than a death penalty. Obama’s position on death penalty, therefore, causes more pain and suffering to the criminals that are charged with these crimes. Many prisoners who are sentenced for life go through mental breakdowns, and their fellow inmates abuse even more of the crimes they committed. In this way, Mitt Romney is contributing more compassion and mercy to the law system than Obama.  To add to this, by administering terrorists and conspirators with the death penalty, the government is safekeeping the country from further damage caused by these men. Since terrorists and conspirators are usually backed up by hostile nations or other criminal organizations, a life sentence in a prison is not a guaranteed quarantine for them.

Nuclear Weapon Proliferation

     Obama's view on Nuclear Weapons is "continue to move towards less emphasis on nuclear weapons." If a country attacks the United States, he vowed that we would not use nuclear force to attack back.  However to North Korea and Iran, he states that since these two countries that are "outliers" like Iran and North Korea, that have violated or defied the international nuclear proliferation treaty, will face a nuclear combat if they attack with nuclear force.

     Mitt Romney views that nuclear weapons should be less in used, he thinks that Iran should stop seeking for nuclear weapon use. He thinks that they should totally stop them from any ideas of it. In North Korea, he believes that we should join with allies to stop North Korea with weapon uses and force them to stop the use of nuclear technology.

NATO involvement in Libya

    Presidents Obama's views on involvement in Libya are very clear.  He wants to send military in to help the people rebel against Mommar Gadaffi.  He wanted to help the people and that was very clear.  He talked about a no fly zone so that the people could not get bombed by the Libyan military and he had the people in mind.  Mitt Romney's view is not as clear.   At first he is saying that it took Obama long enough to send troops and help out the Libyans, but then he became way too aggressive.  First he is not aggressive enough and right away he becomes too aggressive.  Then when Gadaffi dies Romney is happy that he is dead.  He says taht he was a tyrant and it is a better world without him, and that the tactics used were well thought out.  Romney's views are not very clear on involvement in Libya but it is clear that he wanted involvement in Libya and he did not want Gadaffi in power.

Iraq/Afganistan War.

Obama's views on the war in Afghanistan and Iraq have varied greatly throughout his terms. In 2004, he stated that it was a moral obligation for the United States to stay in Iraq until complete "victory" is achieved. However, as time passed, Barak Obama became disillusioned in his believes on the war. By 2006, he began telling the public that the troops will be pulled out by 2009. After being unable to achieve this goal, he moved the date forward to 2011. We are about to enter the year 2012, and how successful has this withdrawal been? The inconsistency, mismanagement, and chaos of the American involvement in Iraq is greatly due to the poor foreign policy decisions taken by President Obama. Mitt Romney is completely and stoically against moving our forces from Iraq, and instead wants to strike a mutual compromise with the citizens and government of Iraq, which would result in a peaceful coexistence of American forces and the people of Iraq. Such a coexistence based on mutual goals and trust will lead to the rise of Iraq as a more democratic and free state.

Jobs Act: Obama v.s. Romney

Although President Obama and Mitt Romney do not have completely different ideas, they do differ from one another.  The biggest difference that we can see is that President Obama does not just want to support small business's expand and help the workers as individuals as well.  President Obama wants to provide incentives to small business owners to hire more and take a few more risks while Mitt Romney wants to build up the economy on the principals of hard work and innovation, basically telling the small business's to work harder and have the next new innovation to do well in life.  Romney also wants to fix the long term goals and not just focus on short term fixes this way the problems will not repeat.  He also wants to relinquish power to the states so that the federal government is not stuck finding the solution to every business.

Race to the Top- Obama's plan for education

     Education has become a major talking point for the candidates in the upcoming presidential election.  The only problem with all of the candidates is that their views are not quite clear.  For starters Rick Perry seems to have no view point on how education should be dealt with.  With President Obama talking more and more about education, how can you not have a view point on such a large topic?
     Another problem is that all but one of the candidates actually makes it easy to find their view points on education.  Herman Cain is the only  candidate with a tab on his issues page of  his website dedicated to education.  The rest of the candidates have nothing on their campaign websites about education or at least it is not evident where the tab is.  You have to go and search all over the web to find out their view points and there is always the possibility that the information you find could be false.
